A great Glasgow band and a great name for a beer. We coax the amazing aromas out of some New Zealand and Slovenian hops, blend with an eclectic mix of light malts and cold condition on an infusion of hops mixed with freshly pressed strawberries.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden with a thin head. Nose - malt, citrus and light honey. Taste - honey nut cornflakes, lemon. A touch of biscuit. Palate - light bodied, creamy. Nice dry, malty finish. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [260414]
Amber, clear, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet strawberry, citrus hops, some tangerine, getting a hint of peach, pale sweet malt background, fresh
Taste of sweet quite fruity pale malts, citrus fruits, soft strawberry, dab of peach, citrus zesty hops, nice soft sweet pale malt background, good flavour
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, fairly oily, nice zesty palate, quite sweet. Finish as main flavour, citrus zest, hint of strawberry, crisp , clean
Overall - The strawberry works very well in this, subtle, not too much to unbalance the beer. Seems to be more a good golden ale to me, but as a lager it’s very good - much better to me than Caesar Augustus.

Bottle from Home Bargains, Blackpool. Light hazy golden colour, not much head. Has a crisp pale ale texture with a good fruity character that’s enjoyable in both nose and taste.

500ml Bottle BBD Feb 2015: poured into a UK pint sleeve on 25th Jan 2014. Freshly-pressed Strawberries? Not in my glass. Golden colour, leaning towards orange with a white fading head. Mild fruit and semi-sweet malt aromas, these carry on into the taste a little too. Didn’t come across as a lager at all. Different but not ’my cup of tea’. Body feel was fine but I didn’t take to the strange mixed fruitiness of the brew.

Bottle at home, left over from Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt. Pours slightly hazy yellow. Not much in the way of carbs or head. Nice aroma, very Nelson Sauvin. Like the idea of the strawberries, I smell some summer berry but not strawberries in particular. Taste is a bit weak: bittersweet from start to finish, slightly more bitter aftertaste. This feels more like a golden ale IPA-lite than a premium lager. Just above average...

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Golden amber colour, thin white foam head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of lemony citrus & strawberry jam. Taste is sweet malt caramel with floral orange citrus plus some strawberry notes and light bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber pour with a white head. Citrus and strawberry jam aroma. Most of the flavour reminds me of strawberry toffos (UK toffee sweets from the 70s/80s for our non UK friends out there!) which the bastards don’t make any more. There’s also a splash of banana and caramel somewhere in there too. Sweet, fruity finish.
