A great Glasgow band and a great name for a beer. We coax the amazing aromas out of some New Zealand and Slovenian hops, blend with an eclectic mix of light malts and cold condition on an infusion of hops mixed with freshly pressed strawberries.

Nose: Light. Some sugar, strawberry sweets, papaya, mango. It’s not bad but sweet. Taste is sweet, light strawberry, slight malt, leading to slight tropical fruit. finish is dry. All rather bland. Good tastes for a lager, sub-par for anything else.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Golden with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Light summer fruits, floral hops and honey in the aroma. Strawberries were more evident in the flavour, along with some sweetish malts and a decent, bitter finish. Ok, but no session beer.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s in Pinner. A golden/amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Not much aroma on this one, vaguely hoppy. Tastes slightly hoppy and malty but rather disappointing. Williams Bros are normally decent but this isn’t good.

Bottle at home shared with Sarah. Crystal clear weird orange mead coloured pour. Reluctant white head that fades to a halo. Aroma is fruity esters tangerine and peach melba with some grassy hop. Slight alcohol is in the nose as well. Flavour is semi-sweet, simple malt bill and even more peach melba in the finish. Lingering grassy hop. Very drinkable. Lightly carbed.

Bottle from Sainsbongos. Clear, pale golden colour. Thin, filmy, white head. Pleasant, sweet malty aroma. A hint of overripe strawberry too. Taste isn’t overly sweet though, just an initial fruitiness, followed, long after, by a light, hoppy dry finish.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s Purley Way. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is soft, sweet, orange, berry and white bread. The taste is grassy, floral, dough, toast, spicy edge, light bitterness and a touch of zesty citrus with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. I can’t say I’m particularly blown away by it, but it is a decent lager.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Light carbonation with virtually no lacing. Dull aroma - honey and faintly vegetative. The flavour is very plain - biscuit and faint fruit notes. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Flat carbonation. It’s not particularly offensive but there’s just nothing to it. Boring, boring, boring...

Bottle from Sainsburys, Bicester, consumed at home Wednesday 25th September 2013 Pours gold a little flatish, only a few bubbles. Buttery nose, buttery mouth also, lacks hops, lacks bite, just lacking full stop. can’t see me bothering with this, totally unimpressed which is a shame as I generally like Williams Bros beers. Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours crystal clear gold with a fine, foamy white head. Simple grain, white bread and hay in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with slight biscuity pale malts, a bit of cereal, light lemon peel and straw. Light in body with average carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish with dirty hay bitterness. Fine.
