375 ml. bottle @ home. Ruby hue black with quite deep mocha head. BBF 05-2021. Nose is surprisingly soy sauce, umami, poorly mixed with umami, bitter roots, ugh,... Taste is overly big cinnamon with no balance at all, herbal roots, vague soy sauce, sweet mocha, some tonka bean in the back, not sure if I really get the mocha, umami dominates too heavily, tonka beans becomes clearer with time & temperature,... Base seems to be poor with plain umami notes, tonka bean & cinnamon seem to really clash,... Body is umami with tonka bean & cinnamon. Not really getting the cacao nibs, tonka bean & cinnamon really clash with the poor base, it is quite a mess even if manageable. Honnestly I keep trying this brewery but I really do not get why the Duchies really hype this one.

On tap at NHBF’17. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of full on tonka beans, vanilla, almond, cocoa beans, roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, dominated by the tonka beans, cocoa, light roast. Medium to full bodied. I love this stuff, guilty pleasure.

Bottle shared at Gekke Geit. Black with small dark beige head. Lots of cinnamon, dark chocolate, coconut, light flowery, vanilla and what I guess are tonka beans, light perfume, light smoked malts. Bit over medium sweet and light bitter. Full bodied. Quite nice.

Bottle at home. Ver dark brown pour with a thin light-tan head. Notes of tonka beans, cocoa, cinnamon, roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, toasted coconut, light vanilla. Medium to full body, roasty-bitter and caramel sweet finish. A good stout, but I do love tonka!

Bottle @ Benzai, 10 cl sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of these weird tonka beans, that remind me of pistache, some vanilla sweetness and some roast. Tonka and chocolatey sweetness in taste, some roasty bitterness. Bit dry and powdery cacao in the finish. Bit thin in body. Decent, but not wow.

Bottle @ home shared with Caesar. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, light peat. Taste malts, dark malts, a bit sweetish, milk chocolate, cinnamon, a bit weird which I guess is the Tonka Beans. Medium body, soft carbonation.
