The first ever American IPA we brewed, this is still our most popular beer! Crikey IPA (“Cry-key”) has a hop profile led by notes of citrus, pine & tropical fruit with a malt backbone providing balance to every sip.

Can from Beautiful Beers (online order). Deep orange/gold, with a fair bit of visible carbonation and a loose white head. Juicy aroma - full of fresh oranges, pineapple and grapefruit - with plenty of pine needles and biscuit notes. After a brief sweetness, the taste becomes incredibly bitter to the pithy finish. Orange juice and TCP notes in the finish. It's an IPA by numbers, but that's not such a bad thing.

Draught @ Zeezicht, Breda, shared with my colleague Kees. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, very nicely hoppy, fruity hoppy. Tastes about the same malts, fruity hops, tropical fruitiness and nice topical fruity bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Quite awesome!

12 oz can from Pilgrim’s. Aroma is clean and fresh, with notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, pine, lightly bready. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention and some lace. Taste is highly bitter with notes matching the aroma, grapefruit pith; not as impressive as the aroma. Nice IPA overall. 8,4,7,5,15

Can, watching the Champs league final, 03/06/17. Golden amber with a well appointed light beige head. Nose is caramel malts, biscuit, bitter orange, straw. Taste comprises orange pith, big caramel base, malt forward, grapefruit, light pine, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent enough Old Skool IPA .... I’d drink again but wouldn’t seek out.

355 ml can from Beer Republic. Thanks to Werckmeister!
Amber, hazy body, with a medium, fluffy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of citrus, guave, passion fruit, apricot, some pine, some dankness, slight biscuit.
Tastes of grapefruit, orange, some herbs, some biscuit.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, dry, zesty, piney, fruity, a bit herbal, a bit malty.
Nice one. The nose is really good, with lots of fruits and dank notes. Taste is pretty simple though, mainly bitter-zesty, not as fruity as the nose. Overall fresh to drink, but not very special.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden/amber body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of marmalade and dried grass. Flavour of melon rind and orange pith. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Solid rather than spectacular.
