Pours dark amber with a large, lasting head.Very hoppy aroma, lots of pine, floral notes, citrus fruit and spicy hops. Some light clean malt underneath.Flavours follow along the same lines, with more floral and spicy notes along with a little fruit. Lovely clean malt underneath with just a hint of a cookie dough-like character.Carbonation is perhaps just a little high.Wonderfully refreshing and drinkable.

From a 355ml bottle on 12/9/2012. Pours a fairly clear dark golden with a tiny head. Has a delightful floral, fruity, perfumey aroma. This is a very flavoursome APA, with caramel and toasty malt, and sweet citrus fruit particularly prominent, with a touch of honey at the back. Better still, it’s quite hop forward, with a touch of IPA-like grapefruit bitterness present. The body is medium and the carbonation spot on. All up, a terrific APA with heaps of character.

Clear amber with a white head that lasts and laces. Aroma of kumquat, grapefruit, a little peach, pine. Thinnish body, rather dull mouthfeel. Not much malt presence, some caramel. Sharpish citrus, dry bitter finish is a bit herbal too. Not enough to support the hops for me.

Draught Almost no head, cold-hazed pale amber beer. Nice inviting USA hops’ nose, fruity, citrussy, melon. Mandarine in the mouth, lightly spicy, some sweetish malts, ever so slighlty toasted. Slightly overcarbonated (or nitrogenated?) feel, too spritzy; light body, slick. Nice pale ale USA style.

Shaker pint draft at the brew pub in Carlsbad, California. Pour is amber golden with a light tan smallish head. Aroma is citrus, fruit stripe gum, and light toasted malt. Taste is the sweet citrus hop, followed quickly by sharp maltiness, and finishing with a mineral earthiness. Palate is light to medium bodied, clean and dry mineral finish.

Nice prominent honey and tea aroma. Clear amber. Solid tea flavor with a sweet honey finish. Not a lot of complexity, but a pleasure to drink. More EPA than APA.

Bottle from South Bay Drug. Pours brilliant copper with a slight foamy beige head. Nice citrus aroma. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is frisky caramel with almost enough citrus hop to balance. It’s really a good flavor. Very palatable.
