This is the second of the “aged beers” produced by the brewery. It is a jet black beer, with strong aromas of expresso coffee with flavours of creamy malt, coffee, chocolate, herbal hops and a bittersweet finish with a hint of liquorice. It is dedicated to the memory of the breweries that once produced this style of beer in vast quantities for export to the Baltic States via the North Sea.

Opaque black beer, small tan head. Milky dark malt nose. Smooth semi soft palate. Nice dark malt - robust but not bitter and with lactose creamy sweetness. Nice smooth Impy, not much complexity but quite sumptuous.

275ml Bottle - Very dark in colour. Leather, vinous fruit, Bournville chocolate and coffee in the aroma. The taste is rich and complex with notes of plain chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. A nice one to sip and rather indulgent.

Bottle 27,5 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours black and opaque with a small beige head. Hard roasted malt in the nose but the sweet dried fruit dominate. Quite full-bodied, a little low in carbonation, some licorice notes. Has a light malt bitterness. Really an old school Imperial Stout, but a nice one indeed. 220311

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, over ripe fruits and brettanomyce. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, roasted malt, and soy sauce, leading to a bitter finish.
