Tropical Black Ale. Brewed for Westmorland Farm Shops by Eden Brewery.
For this Black IPA - minus those black beer notes - we use big American Citra and Azacca hops late in the boil for citrus and tropical flavours. Then in goes Mango, Guava and another big load of Citra just for good measure!
This beer is gently carbonated and lightly filtered to ensure the hop aromas and flavours come through. Conditioned to pour a little hazy.

330ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Jan 19. Thanks Mike for this. Pours hazy dark amber, frothy off-white pale tan topping. Ridiculously vibrant tropical nose. Bucketloads. Taste is good tropics, guava, mango, banana, subtle dry roast close. Excellent.

28th Jan 2019. Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mike for the 330ml can. Black bodied beer with a beige topping. Very fruity number this, like a fruit salad with caster sugar sprinkled on, then a late bitterness kicks in. Different and interesting.

15/11/2018. Can shared with Danlo and SHIG. Pours pale brown with a fairly large off-white to beige head. Aroma of mango juice, passion fruit, guava, citrus, very jammy/fruit concentrate, malty/chocolate edge. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Bitter finish, fruit is quite powerful but seems artificial.

330ml from Rheged shared with Grumbo and SHIG. Dark brown colour, foamy tan head leaving lacing and aroma of tropical fruit cordial. Taste is dark malt, caramel with tangy zesty citrus, tropical fruit flavours and grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry fruity bitter finish. Abit different, quite OK.

Can from Rheged. Appearance - dark brown to black and opaque. Big fluffy head. Nose - mango, apricot. Taste - lovely mango, passion fruit and apricot again. Palate - medium bodied and creamy. Fairly good taper. Overall - close your eyes and this is not a dark beer. It's a blonde ipa with fruit. I feel a bit cheated by the fact that there are no dark malt notes.

Can shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours hazy dark brown with a thin beige head. Strong mango aromas, very tropical. Not subtle. Taste is more heavy fruit. Light bitter finish.
