Bottle courtesy of Peter Fowler (cheers Peter) consumed at home Sunday 3rd February 2019, listening to Snapped Ankles and cooking a Beef Casserole with roasty accompaniments. Pours gold with a haze, a white head sits atop. Quite woody (oaky) on the nose, soft in the mouth a little bitterness, in fact the more I sip the bitterer it becomes, I'm impressed with the Golding's hops. Soft in the mouth, fruity.

500ml bottle from the Brewery. 50th Durham Brewery rating. Pours an orangey amber gold colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of caramel, woody oak, yeasty. Taste is malt, caramel, some toffee and biscuit, with woody, oaky, vanilla notes, tangy orange citrus, and spicy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Deep orange. Soft haze. Thick and dense, lasting, glossy topped, white head. Nose has spicy, gingery malts. Fruited bread. Black pepper. Ripe citrus rind. Some vanilla oak. Taste has an oaky, vanilla sweetness, but is mostly earthy, spicy, citrus peel bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. Soft and massaging carbonation. A little slick. Vanilla and citrus to finish. Delicious beer in perfect nick.
