Mercury Hard Cider has a light golden appearance, yet a full flavour with a smooth finish. Inspired by traditional 'hard cider'.

Mercury was a Tasmanian brand (apparently I've not tried any since I've been here) but is now a tramp cidery. Can, cold. Clear gold. Aroma of sharpish apples, sugar. Very sweet with pretty bland apples. Little skin, no acidity or tannin - but no overt alcohol either. Just too sweet for me.

(Can) Clear golden yellow, no head. Sugary apple aroma. Slightly sticky medium bodied with slightly fizzy carbonation. Pretty sweet, not as sweet as many mainstream ciders, but too sweet for me. There’s also apple tastes of course. Alcohol well hidden. Not good, but there’s worse ciders.

375ml can from Dan Murphys, Hurstville. Bright golden colour, white foam head that dissipates to a thin layer and aroma of sugary apple. Taste is mellow apple, sweet, sugary with some tangy light tannic notes. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium fine carbonation, semi-dry finish with some lingering sugary sweetness. OK.

375ml can into shaker. Highly effervescent on 1st pour, head disappears instantly. Clear golden colour with many tiny lazy bubbles. Smells a bit acidic, a bit funky, a bit industrial. Oily texture. Taste is sweeeeettt! Toffee apple sweet. Finish is more lingering apple-like sweetness. Alcohol is well hidden, dangerously quaffable.
