When brewing a tribute beer for a ska, reggae, hip hop, dance collective such as the Dub Pistols, you better make sure you hit all the right notes. Named after their legendary lead singer, Barry Ashworth, with BUB you’ll get marmalade and an earthy, almost cannabis aroma. A rock star’s breakfast served to you courtesy of Columbus hops, with Amarillo and Cascade thrown in for good measure.

Bottle. Bier Huis Ossett. Them Norwegian blokes do my fucking nut in. They need to find a drink they actually like. Anyway. Faint haze on a pale gold. Seems a bit fizzy this so there’s a good ole John Merrick swede here. Nose has light fresh pale malts. Whiff of honeysuckle. Some pineapple. Some piny notes. Taste has some sweetness getting moderately bitter. Light to medium body with a high carbonation that spoils things slightly. Moderate bitterness to finish. Decent. Shame about the fizz.

Draught at Great British Food Festival, Harewood House. Slightly hazy orangey gold colour, white foam head leaving some lacing and aroma of citrusy hop. Taste is malt caramel, grain, fruity with tangy citrus, pine spicey hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Half-pint, cask at Guild Ale House in Preston. Shared with Finn. Nitro creamy, pearl white head, lacing rings down the glass. Clear amber coloured body. Vague smell of bread and grassy hops. Moderate taste of caramel malts, bread and ripe fruits. Distant bittersweet end. Accepted. (09.02.2019).

Calderdale Beer Festival 2017. Golden in colour with a hoppy-fruity bitterness that lingers. There’s a fruitiness in its nose.
