COCONUT & VANILLA IMPERIAL STOUT...A monarchical black beer brewed with the sovereign of stouts himself.... Mr Alan Thomson of OLD CHIMNEYS. Vantablack in colour with complex layers of the finest kilned mated barley revealing monster notes of cinder toffee, worn leather, dark cocoa, toasted coconut and Madagascan vanilla. Mashed & boiled with raw coconut flakes then matured for 4 weeks on toasted coconut and Bourbon Island vanilla beans.

440ml can. Pitch black with a small beige head. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, toffee. Taste has loads of coconut, sweet vanilla, toffee, bitter dark chocolate, roast malts. Full bodied, thick and creamy smooth. This is brilliant, everything is in such good balance and it drinks way way under its ABV. Phenomenal beer.

Can. RAD Beer. Not far off black. Head is a super fine, leggy, viscous, tan affair. Nose has milk chocolate. Desiccated coconut. Rich, well steeped vine fruit. Vanilla fudge. Chewy toffee. Some coffee malt. Taste is super sweet. Some vinous bitterness. Medium to full body. Soft carbonation. Could be smoother on the palate. Ideally, like I know fuck all. Sweet fudge and vine fruit to finish. Great beer. Drinks way under the ABV. Well under. WAY under.

Can @ DØE meeting. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, caramel, sweet chocolate, vanilla, coconut, cake. Flavor is very sweet, rich malty, caramel, chocolate, coconut, slightly artificial vanilla, vanilla powder, alcohol. Full body, light oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation, sweet finish with loads of warming alcohol. 161019

Can from Eltham Wines, Eltham. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is molasses, bucket loads of dark chocolate, cocoa, light bourbon, liquorice toffee, vanilla. Warm, gullet warming flavours of dark chocolate, heavy bourbon character, liquorice, Highland toffee, creme caramel. Endless alcohol warmth. Long sweet boozy finish. Totally enamoured by this. Bloody excellent!
