110K+OT Batch #5! This guy clocks in around 11% ABV and was brewed with bitter curacao peel. The result is an incredibly hoppy citrusy bomb, but warming in the finish. Double IPA? Hoppy barley wine? Whatever it is, it’s pretty awesome.

Bottle shared at Dean’s Technicoloured Dream-Shorts Tasting. Pours cloudy dark amber with a cream head. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch, orange peel, cheesy old sock malt, toffee and fruits. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bomber shared at July THT courtesy of Kermis. We’re not sure how old ot is. Thin off white head. Cloudy amber pour. Light bitterness. Maybe it’s too old. It’s become more like a barley wine. Pretty decent though

Bottle - thanks! Pours clear reddish amber with a large creamy puffy beige head that dissipates slowly leaving sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma is very malty - caramel, toffee, pine resin. Flavor about the same, medium sweet, medium bitter. Most of the hop character has faded into "bitter", but the beer remains quite interesting as an American strong or a barleywine. There is some zestiness to the bitter, which I am guessing is curacao. Not bad. Full bodied and creamy in the mouth.

This beer pours a cloudy dark orange color with a medium creamy khaki head that recedes steadily to a compact film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, toffee, doughy malt and citrus. The finish is sweet with a citrus and piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle @ Greg’s house via trade with markwise. Thanks Mark! Pours a hazy, red orange appearance with a light brown head. Orange citrusy, dull juicy citrus fruity, a bit bready, bitter herbal hoppy aroma. Quite strong, huge sweet bready malty, thick zesty orange fruity, kind of stale flavor with a fair amount of booze and sweetness on the finish.

Bottle shared at CBC First Birthday, London - many thanks to Paul! Pours mostly clear, rich gold with a sturdy, white foam head. Nose holds a lot of malts, some caramel, some ripe fruits. Big sweet flavor, super sugary, lots of toffee and caramel, very mild leafy hops, honey. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Big sweet finish, quite warming, some caramel, bread, honey. Very mellow pine, plenty of sugar. It’s a hugely sweet beer.

750mL bottle, sent from Gillard (thanks a lot, Ryan), pours an opaque dark orange with a small beige head. Nose is very fruity and sugary, --more sugary than hoppy for a IIPA--, with notes of grapefruit, mango, candied sugar, resinous hops and a big sweet caramel malt backbone. Flavour matches almost identically, with loads of caramel malt sweetness, some grapefruit, some other tropical fruits and then a blast of resinous hops - finishes lightly bitter and quite sugary and fairly boozy. Way more malt-forward than a superior IIPA should be, but it's still drinkable. Far from refreshing and more like a thick, syrupy barley wine, but still quite enjoyable.

750mL bottle courtesy of markwise pours clear deep copper with tan head. The aroma offers up sticky malts mixing with near robust levels of pine hop goodness and a modest level of sweet smelling fruity esters. Nice IIPA aroma. The taste is bold and rich and bitter. I get prune and cherry sweet fruity esters as well as firm levels of muted yet resiny pine hops. Between those notes sweet malts and pine hop flavor bind the experience together. Nice bold rich bitter IIPA and ‘homered’ in class too.

Bomber. Pours a cloudy orange with a small frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a floral hops, caramel, mango, and pine. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt, grapefruit, and nice sweet finish. Tastes more like a barley wine than a IIPA.

Pours slightly hazy copper color with off white head. Fruity and citrusy aromas with some caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with juicy citrus hops with moderate bitterness. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Much sweeter and maltier than what I look for in a DIPA, but still a nice Barley wine or American Strong ale.
