Discombobulated is a Kveik with citrus and cacao nibs. What is Kveik, you ask? It is a Norwegian yeast strain (aka Voss) that imparts a lot of orange citrus-y aroma. We've combined Voss' orange-y characteristics with golden pilsner base malt and Woodblock Chocolate cacao nibs to create the perfect spring dessert beer.

28th September 2019
Borefts XI Day 2 . Keg. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth and fairly dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thin and sweetish, a little thin malt cream. Orange and orange peel citrus. Modest spice. Light semi dry finish. Still not sure what Kveik yeast brings to the party other than a light sweetness.

27/IX/19 - on tap @ Borefts Day 1, BB: n/a - (2019-1490) Thanks to the international RateBeer Crew for sharing today's beers!
Clear orange beer, big creamy dense off-white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, grains, caramel, slightly fruity, orange peel, oxidied, honey, cardboard. Another oxidized beer at this festival, really? MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, bit dirty, meh. Aftertaste: orange peel, oxidized, sweet malt, gentle bitterness, slightly resinous. Underwhelming and way too old.

Kveik, citrus and cacao, what's not to like! Great fun beer, very soft, thick and fluffy. Pretty damn sweet, lots of chocolate without the bitterness. Little bit of funkyness in the background adds an extra layer. Awesome label.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Light amber colour, hazy. Strange ale, light biscuit, light spice, light earthy touch (the nibs?).
What's the purpose?

Light but dull amber, aroma has citrus, maybe some bugs. Taste is a bit wonky. Not off, but not on. Malts are flat, aromatics muted. Meh.

500 ml bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a large white head. A funky slightly sweaty citrus nose. Clear cocoa, husky grains, light funky citrus. Odd one, the chocolate is distracting and dry. But solid overall.
