Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before November 2018. Clear, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains and some straw. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy taste of grains and some straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Average Pils.

Pours clear blonde, very little visual carbonation. Pilowy white head, medium in size, medium-low stability. Smell is mild noble hops, taking account for most of the aroma, but leaving some space for the pilsner malts to shine trough. low amount of DMS, which is acceptable for the style. Taste is medium bitter, rather sharp, with a proportionnal malty backbone. Easy drinking. Average body and low to low-average carbo. Mild DMS, perhaps a tad to high, but surely acceptable. Might benefit from a bit more intensity, either on the malts, or on the hops.

$2.60 bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours pale gold with a large soft white head. Aroma is green grass, corn. Flavor is glue, corn, water, paper, green leaves. Plain, ordinary, not worth the extra $2 I spent on a standard beer.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%, Overall this is a delicious German pilsner. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Never aggressively bitter, nice malt body for the ABV. Nothing but clean Pils malt and balancing noble hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

From Aug 2007

Bought as part of a mixed 6Pack at Wilbur's Liquors in Ft Collins Colorado.

It pours from 11.2oz bottle a clear straw gold with a large head of foam that shrinks to a fine layer after a few minutes and there's some lacing.

The smell has that nice Pilsner nose to it. Nice mix of hops and malt with the hops being more prevelant.

The taste is very tasty and refreshing. I get some hops up front that are kind of bitter and that's followed by some earthy malt character and a bit of grain. It's very smooth but the flavour is strong enough to keep my interest. It finishes crisp and dry and leaves a pleasant bitterish aftertaste. I like this one and I could easily drink a bottle or 3 on a nice hot summer day like today. I wish I bought more. :^( Stilll, there's always next time, I hope. Solid, tasty example of the style that is worth seeking out, imho.
