This is the sister beer to our award-winning ale, Damnation. Fashioned after a Belgian-style “single”, this ale is rarely brewed in America, let alone Belgium. Typically, “singles” are brewed only at the Trappist Monasteries for the monks to enjoy with meals. They often drink only half of a bottle with lunch and the rest with supper, despite the beer’s low alcohol content. Redemption is modest in strength, robed in warm golden hues, and soft on the palate with a smooth dry finish.
Admin's Note: Batch 001 was bottled with brettanomyces. This entry is only for Batch 001 bottles. Draft and any bottles after Batch 001 should go under the regular Redemption entry.

Bottle at RBGT. Pours murky mango in color. Aroma is light farmhouse, fruity. Body is light, but also a bit flat and oxidized. Light fruity palate. Nice.

Light yellow color. Barnyard, straw, lots of wild yeast. Mildly sour, lots of yeast in the flavor. Full palate. This is very nice, like almost everything from this brewery.

Fully hazy lemon-coloured beer, like carbonated lemonsquash; very stable, fine, white head. Lemon with saddle soap nose. And fresh toilet soap. And lemon blossom. And lactic acid. And citric acid, lemony. And... WOW! Fresh citrussy taste, with again leather. Exotic herbs, as lemongrass, something to find in a Thai floating market. Elderblossom, and hopped cider. Extremely refreshing, drinks away effortlessly like a lemonade for adults. Titilating by the carbonation. This drinks like a dream. For a low ABVBN this is absolute top. Vinnie, how do you do it? BIG, BIG thanks to lachesis (and to the_Beer_God, I’m told).

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy, pale golden with a small, white head - looks very much like a Belgian Wit. Aroma of yeast and perhaps a whiff of coriander. Very light-bodied, dry and tart - or perhaps rather lactic? A brew of limited interest. 011206

A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of coriander, oranges, and bread. The flavor is sweet malty combined with a dry spicyness. The body is thin. I’m not very impressed.

Thanks to Eyedrinkale for bringing this to the Heavyweight Open House - considering my other experiences with this brewery, this was not the brett bomb I was expecting it to be - the brett just left a slightly tangy, band-aid-like quality to the beer - perhaps with more aging the brett will kick in more - other than that, this was quite a light and refreshing belgian ale - mostly light citrus, with generally high acidity, tempered by a mellow, cake-like malt profile - very soft (but adundant) carbonation - pretty good.

Bottle (Courtesy of Jimbowood): Poured slightly hazy yellowish ale with a super huge foamy head with great retention. Perfect aroma of Brett is very nice with dry hops and some floral malt. Taste is mildly sour at first with some nice floral peak and ends with a dry finish. Body is quite full which kind of surprise me because of the low ABV I was expecting some light beer. Overall, this is a truly wonderful beer and I very much appreciated the fact that even though the alcohol is low enough the taste and body are reasonably strong.

Dickinsonbeer’s Pre-TAP gathering - I brought the bottle. Batch 1. As Optimator said, this thing made a mess of everything around it, I blame it on the Brett. Pours cloudy light yellow, can see through the beer. This is the first non-Belgian beer I had that had such an authentic Belgian aroma, very impressive. Citrusy and acidic aroma. Smooth beer, medium body. The flavor fills the palate and evaporates. Can feel the essence of the beer for a while.
Re-rate:Shared by EDA, 2 years old now, I am surprised this did not blow up. All bretty of course now, lots and lots of pineapple funky, I greatly enjoyed this aged, more so than fresh.

Cloudy yellow colour. Bright bretty aroma with a champagne note and abundant pale malts. Snappy brett and wood flavour again with light pale malt. The body is much more lively, both in terms of effervescence and brightness of flavours, than the brewpub version. It’s not showing me the complexity of some of the other bretty, Belgiany RR creations, but it’s certainly worthy of a look.

Popped the cork gently and stiil got a gusher. Gold color with a huge, Heavy lacing white head. Yeasty Brettanomyces aroma, and a citrusy, spicy flavor.
