Bottle at the pre Borefts tasting 2019, Zaandam. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is yeasty, Bretty yeast, red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate sour, with a crisp, fruity, dry tart citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pours thickly to a light-greige head, pitting in over jet-black beer. Coffee overobvious, also cascara, sourish, berries; lots of roast, ash. Quite sour, coffee/cascara, fruity acids & lactic, but finish is totally coffeeroast. Still well-bodied despite some solid acidthinning. Good carbonation; slick but not viscous. Quite special. I like it though this kind of hybrid beer will never be my preferred "style". I Many thanks to Louis! /I

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to NewKen. Pours mostly clear, deep brown with a frothy, beige head. It's not bad, but I have to wonder why, in 2019, a brewery feels the need to produce a barrel-aged, sour, adjunct imperial stout. And then I recall that it comes from Belgium, where anything besides traditional styles is essentially novel, and then it makes some kind of sense. This beer has a lot of tangy dark berries around, some coffee, subtle roast, a lick of acidity. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. It's a little tart in the finish, with nips of lemon, touches of earth and coffee, a nibble of cocoa. It is drinkable, but I still need to wonder, who thought this was needed?

Sampled at pre-Borefts tasting. Slight hazy very dark brown with beige head. Sour imperial stout and coffee alright! Cranberries, oak, vanilla, earthy roast, glue, chocolate, and yes lots of coffee! Medium sour, under medium sweet and boozy bitter. Over medium bodied. It’s nice, but needs to be shared.

750ml bottle. Sour, tart and messy with some green apples, vinegar, wood and yeastiness. Feels off, clearly a brew gone wrong.
