Keg at CBC Clapham - London. Pours dark, black-brown with a mocha cream head. The aroma holds dark fruits, black currants, treacle, burnt wood, mellow chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich bittersweet chocolate, mild tangy rye, purple grapes, raisins, charred marshmallows, scorched earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Mellow warmth to conclude with charred wood bitterness, liquified chocolate, prunes, more black currants, subtle burnt herbs. Lingering dark fruit sugars. Good one.

Cask at Siren event, The Grapes, Oxford, 18th December 2013 Pours black with a small beige head, oily appearance. Some coffee lingering on the nose but like the ryesing tides you can detect the rye, this also adds a real fullsome body to this. There is a juicy hop edge to this and a soft bitterness. I had three of these so it suggests that I rather liked it, surprisingly easy drinking as well. A8 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 4.0
