Similar to a West Coast IPA. Floral nose with notes of citrus and pine. Medium bodied with a nice punch of hops and a solid malt finish. Crankshaft won a silver medal at the 2017 International Brewing Awards. A great beer for lovers of big full flavoured brews - it cranks! Crankshaft was the highest ranked IPA in the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers Poll for 2018, for the second year in a row.

A session IPA with a proper IPA ABV. I kept drinking this one chasing something more, but it just wasn't there. It has a pleasant nose of pine, honey, a little tropical fruit and a touch of biscuit. The taste is mostly mild bitter hops, leaving me wondering where all those lovely aromas went. It has a pretty short finish too.

On tap. Really surprised I haven't rated this before. Easy drinking, well-balanced. The hops are there but not superforward. Maltiness gives it legs in a session-drinking scenario.

Sampled from the tap at The Local Taphouse. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a combination of onion and pine with a bit of bread backing. Flavor has a combination of grass, pine and onion with a grain note underlying.

Slightly hazy golden amber color. Big pronounced citrusy orange character, very low carbonation, almost like it’s on cask. Leafy mouth feel. Hops are fresh and pronounced. Medium bitterness. A crowd pleaser. I like it but don’t love it

Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Tropical, piney, slightly peppery finish.

330ml can at Grumbos not the only rater in Suffolk tasting. Slightly hazy orange gold amber colour, white head and tropical fruit hop aroma. Taste is malt caramel with some fruity citrus & pine notes and spicy earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry mellow bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with small white head. Nice aroma - pine with hints of stone fruit. Medium body with great carbonation. Taste is very well balanced, with light toffee malt and hops which are fruity and refreshing at the start and give a nice bitterness at the end. Very good.

Can. Bright pale amber with a loose white head. 3+ Aroma has tropical fruit - passionfruit, mango - meshing with sweet biscuit, some pine, bitter oranges. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Sweetish but with enough bitterness to counter. Fruity and biscuity. Bitterness creeps up and is mildly spicy. Not a lot of punch, but clean and pleasant. A bit old fashioned perhaps but satisfying.
