First brewed in 1985, Arkell Best Bitter is an amber session ale with a mild caramel and biscuit malt body and a subtle floral hop finish. With only 4% alcohol by volume, this well-balanced English-style bitter is the perfect session ale for any occasion!

Cask: Poured a clear brown color ale with a small head that disappeared quite fast. Aroma is quite weak with some malt being distinguishable with some light hops. Taste is refreshing but very light with some sweet malt and light hops. Body is too thin for my own liking and was expecting more bitterness. Not bad but there is some way better bitter out there.

(Cask version) Golden colour with slightly hoppy nose. Very nice clear sharp hops in mouth but not enough malt to compensate. Thin body.

A nice light copper colour. The head didn't last for long though unfortunatly. A nice aroma of oranges and malt.A little caramel too. Not very bitter but a nice smooth malty flavour. The finish was a little watery. Good Beer!!

A very enjoyable beer, with a nice light hoppiness, although I think it may have slipped a little in recent years.
