This is our take on a double IPA. Although some would consider it somewhat ‘Belgian’ in its malt and yeast profile, we definitely crammed in all the juicy, fruity and fresh hops that any hophead could possibly wish for.

With Elliot, we tried to create a refreshing beer that’s dangerously drinkable while still maintaining that unxious mouthfeel that Struise is so renowned for. Being able to either quaffed or sipped, this is one of our most versatile multi-purpose beers.

bottle, pours hazy amber, very tall light an head. A very lively beer. Strong hop nose, tons of it. Sweet biscuity malt, some candied fruit flavors and a strong bitter hop finish. Carbonation is low to moderate. This is enjoyable to me because there is so much more than just a shitload of hops. Lots of good malt and a sweet fruity flavor as well. It balances out so well and makes this a highly drinkable beer to me. Two mugs up!!

Bottle. Grapefruit and pommegranateseed aroma. Amber, big off-white creamy head. Initial hop wallop, grapefruit, pineapple, pineneedles, herbs. Goes over into a caramelly, flan, light wooden finish, tropical fruit and cheese curd retronasal. Medium body, light sparkly dry mouthfeel.

330ml bottle from Walt! Nose is sweet, light fruitiness and caramel with hints of citrus and pine. Hazy copper with a medium beige head that laces the glass nicely. Flavor is a little peppery spiciness, candi sugar, light hop bitterness, and some piney hops. Finish is where the bitterness finally shows somewhat. Very malty DIPA!

330ml bottle bought at Kihoskh in Copenhagen in May last year, and enjoyed for an hour at home in Tromsø late on a Saturday night. Sumptuous, pale yellowish head with good retention resting on top of partial clear, amber body. Full glass-lacing. Inviting sweet, hoppy aroma. Unfolds a flavour with good amounts of succulent hops, supported by spiced candid fruits with underlying bitterness. Soft in the mouth. Medium to full bodied. Very moreish. Nice blend of Danish and Belgian brewing traditions [24.01.2009].

Bottle. An interesting and different double IPA compared to standard U.S. fare. Rust-colored body with a tight-bubbled head. The nose was moderately malty with notes of caramel, lightly hoppy with hints of flowers and citrus, and lightly yeasty with hints of tart fruits and earth. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The finish is lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body with a velvety texture and lively carbonation. Still prefer a well-made super citrusy double IPA.

Bottle from Olbutikken, Copenhagen. Looks solid with a marble pattern and a compact with head. Smells of belgian yeast and some citrusy hops. It is a belgian DIPA.

A murky dark amber ale with a thick lacing off white head. A very doughy aroma, with coriander, light Brett, light vanilla, strange cavey aroma. In mouth, an intense hops meet a strong coriander triple, nice little sweet sugar residuals. Interesting...it gros on me. Bieropholie import.
