Bottle, Studio Oedipus No. 16 Flemish Red. Color: Hazy reddish brown, reddish beige head. Aroma: Tart, balsamico vinegar, caramel, red fruit. Taste: Medium tart red grapes, berries and cherry. Acid vinegar, balsamico, yogurt and subtle caramel notes. Getting a bit less acidic after a while. Medium to just under medium body, average carbonation. Bit foamy mouthfeel. Some funky notes. Wood. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Lightly sweet and light to moderate bitter. Rather thin body for a Flemish Red. Not one of the best beers in this style in my opinion, but overall ok.

0.375 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in December 2018. Hazy, brownish red with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, gently fruity and moderately vinous aroma of red wine, vinegar, sour cherries, oak and a touch of chocolate. Gently sour, vinous, quite fruity taste of red wine, sour cherries, oak, vinegar and traces of chocolate, followed by a medium long, quite tart, vinous and quite woody finish with quite some vinegar. Medium body, rather astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Rather complex and refreshing, just a bit too heavy on the vinegar.

Red brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have very tart, fruity notes. It mellows out in the finish.

Draft at Foeders, Amsterdam. Hazy amber brown with a tan head. Aroma of tart overripe dark fruits, oak, light brett funk, malt and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and sour. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Tap at Kaapse 5th anniversary. Hazy reddish brown with small beige head. Lactic sour, overripe blackberries, red currants, soft glue, bready malts, cherry yoghurt. Medium sour, under medium bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied and under medium dry.
