0.5 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before March 2024. Clear, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity-floral, a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, tea, raisins orange peel and light honey. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity-floral and a bit grassy-spicy taste of caramel, honey, tea, orange peel and traces of raisins, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent ale, nicely British, overall well-balanced.

Bottle from Asda. Bronzey-amber with a middling off-white head and a light fizz. Smells of caramel, metal and dust. Taste is a little better with sweet caramel up front, some biscuit, a touch of spice, an earthiness behind, and a light dryness in the moderately bitter finish. But the metal is still there with a hint of cardboard too - I suspect this has been heavily pasteurised. Not great.
