Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.

When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Darker golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, light herbal fruity nose with whiff of alcohol. Sweet malty, light herbal and fruity with slightly vegetable touch in light bitter finish. Just average.

On tap at Fakin Craft Bar, Zagreb. Shared with Peh 🍻 Hazy amber, big creamy off-white head. Light hops are very earthy and herbal with a fruity touch. Seems messy, no American hop character. Malts base strongly present. High carbonation, light body, light finish.

Tap at Fakin. Full amber, darker body, white head. Soft aroma, malty candyish backbone and tropical - obvious Galaxy, ending bit herbal. Taste.... soft, smooth, similar, candyish mild maltiness, light fruity hoppiness, ending nicely herbal and bitterish. A classic, clean APA, nothing more, nothing less.

Pours orange from the can. A frothy to foamy white head slowly settles. Aroma is citrus, a bit floral, light caramel. Taste is bitter to bittersweet with caramel undertones. Body is medium and the brew has a nice, well rounded feel in the mouth. Good.

Can from Wegmans. Cloudy, almost muddy orange-brown. Nose is pine, chocolate, caramel, orange, grapefruit. Nice flavors, Munich-like malt character, resiny, citrus. Strongly bitter. Full yet crisp. Good new interpretation of an old school apa.
