The grist for this beer leads with a high percentage of flaked oats which are backed up by some malted wheat making for a solid, round base. In the whirlpool we added some piney Simcoe Cryo® pellets, a technological development in hop pellet processing which sees much of the vegetal material removed, leaving pure oils and all of their flavoursome goodness in a more concentrated form.

For the dry hop we went with the tropical intensity of Citra in BBC pellet form, again, a higher concentrated pellet well suited for dry hopping. We backed them up with Mosaic and the underrated hop Comet, which lends plenty of dank, grapefruit character to this resinous, zesty IPA.

19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke & Rubin77! Hazy pale yellow, lasting, small, foamy, white head; some lacing. Aroma of ripe mango, papaya, dough, spring onion, mellow tangerine, pine resin. Taste is medium fruity sweet, lots of ripe mango, orange, revolving around a bitter core of orange peel, grapefruit, cheesy, piney & oniony accents, underlying doughy malts & sourish lemon zest. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, lingering fruit rinds, ripe yellow fruit & dough. Medium body, fluffy texture, soft carbonation. Very nice, full-on bitter & juicy NEIPA.

Keg @ Northern Monk Refectory, Manchester. Hazed yellow-amber with a small head. Has a fizzed citrus taste and is mildly sticky-sweet, with a fuller fruity aroma.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - cloudy yellow gold with a thin head. Aroma - tomato plants and resin. Not much fruit. Taste - fruit this time. Citrus probably, but again resin dominant. Palate - balanced bitterness against the malt/hop sweetness in the earlier part of the palate. Overall - taste better than nose.
