Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers! Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Medium sweet flavour, super boozy, some dark malts, burnt toffee, raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot finish, more burnt sugars, vague raisiny notes, a little earth. So so.

Enjoyed at home while watching the NBA All Star game. Goes down with a moderate burn, rich in bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Overall pretty good.

2018 bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo. Thanks Aaron! Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of brown foam that lingers. Lovely deep cacao nib aromas with vanilla, oak and bourbon. Sweet bourbon, molasses, caramel and chocolate on the palate. Good body...some coffee and cacao nib husks. Really enjoyable.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; 2017 vintage bottling, listed at 13% on the label. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of nuts, smoke, char, molasses, licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of nuts, smoke, char, molasses, licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Mild roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, dark/brown bread, nuts, light smoke/dark fruit, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight chalky roast, oak tannins, and drying. Minimal warming alcohol for 13%, with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Very rich and well rounded oatmeal stout malt complexity. Barrel integration and balance is absolutely perfect; never boozy, tannic, or drying. Nice pleasant fruity yeast notes in the way back. A really amazing offering, and spot on style example.

Sampled at the brewery 11-25-17. Thin tan head sitting on a pitch black liquid. Bourbon is intergrated really well for a fresh Barrel aged stout, smooth coconut, vanilla from the Evan Williams barrel. Very nice full body with a oily slick texture over the mouth. ABV warming is mild after the sip. Very impressed!!
