Taster pour as part of a flight at The Grill Next Door, Haverhill. Appearance is cloudy, piss yellow with no discernible sparkle, thin cap of off-white head with decent retention and light leggy lacing at the top of the glass. Aroma is strong herb and much milder citrus. Taste is strong scalliony hempy herb with milder piney bitter balance. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation with late lively kick and crisp, dry, mostly bitter finish. Overall, strong herbal NEIPA with bitter balance that avoids being too bitter. Good.

Draft at Southern Grist 3rd Anniversary. Pours a glowing hazy gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Grass, citrus and mango on the nose with some light pineapple as it warms. More fruit, grass and pine on the palate. Balanced between tropical fruit and bitterness. Lingering pithy bitterness on the finish. Very good.

Can from Jeff, thanks for the opportunity! Hazy murky lemon in color with a thin bubbly white head. Grassy citrus and tropical fruits. Gritty chalky mouthfeel.

Draft at King's Head, Portland ,ME. Appearance of grapefruit juice. Aroma is ridiculously tropical fruity. Large peach, passion fruit, pineapple. Very well balanced. Flavors shows me pineapple for weeks. Hints of passion fruit, slight resin, and hints of floral in the finish. Bitterness is bold. Incredible brew. Reminds me of another top tier beer from New England. (And I am not going to refer to said beer)

Pours an incredibly murky, muddy-brown-yellow, with smallish head (seriously, this is not a pretty beer, even by NE standards). Strong citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Flavor is very citrusy, with a huge pine/spruce hop bite. Soft mouthfeel. Very bitter finish/aftertaste. Not bad.**I feel like I underrated this from the beginning--I've had several more since and this is truly one of the best NE-style double IPAs currently being made**

Draught at the brewery, 2/17/17.
Light blonde with brighter brass-gold hues and a moderate haziness. Medium-sized white head shows strong retention.
Juicy, NE-style nose shows plentiful ruby red grapefruit, cherry and mango yet there’s also some light pine and hints of resin. Malts stay out of the way for the most part, adding only bits of honey and crusty breadiness. A bit of earthiness and lots of marmalade also lingering with no alcohol or flaw.
Juicy again in the mouth but with quite a bit more bitterness than expected and a hint of alcohol on the finish. Mango, pineapple and grapefruit are spread over a lightly malty, wheat-laden texture with low but fairly engaging carbonation. Quite dry overall and maybe just a bit more punchy and bitter than I’d prefer, though it’s still excellent. Hard to beat the mango smoothie ipa that preceded it, though.
