This velveteen Ryewine was aged for 15 months in WhistlePig The Boss Hog VIII: LapuLapu’s Pacific barrels. These beautifully crafted French oak casks were originally used to age single-island Philippine rum before finishing one of the most sought-after rye whiskeys in the world. Notes of dark sugar, spice, and oak intertwine with subtle expressions of tropical fruits and rich spirit.

Sample from MJ, many thanks! Deep amber with faint beige head. Burnt sugar, quite a bit of oak, big vanilla, some prunes, a tad boozy, almost blue cheesy. Loads of complexity and umami. Slightly salty, brulee finish.

Burk från Revolution. 2018, 14.6%.

12oz can pours a cola brown with a ring of beige head.  Nose has all the booze, cognac, spice, caramel, chewy malts and grains.  Flavors same with booze and grapes.  Finishes full and oily and boozy.  8 3 8 4 15

Bottle shared @ Blåbær Lambik Release 2019. Pours hazy brown with a small white head. Notes of rye, vanilla, spices, caramel, booze, light offnote. Smells kinda like something went a little wrong here, sadly.

Can shared at Alex's birthday. Pours a deep brown with a finger of beige foam that lingers. Big sweet malt, oak, caramel, plum and prune aromas on the nose. More oak on the palate and some light peppered caramel notes. Lingering whiskey and pepper on the finish with dried caramel. Not too sweet.

Draught @ Malt & Mold. Clear reddish brown with foamy beige head, sweet rum-woodsy aroma, adequate carbonation, initially sweet woodsy taste turning medium bitter, dried fruits flavor with strong alcohol undertones, smooth body, long finish. Very good!
