A mainstay of traditional, albeit lighter, German styles, this crisp and refreshing lager folds a hint of hops into a clear beer with a slight, if creamy head, for an ideal summer session experience.

From a 12 oz can. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head. Bready aromas. Flavors are moderately bitter hops with a fine malty backbone.

12 oz. can from Total Wine - Greenville, SC. Pours a mostly clear light gold color with a bright white head and good retention. Spots of lacing. Smells like a pilsner. The taste follows the nose. Bright pilsner-like flavor, but with low bitterness and just a hint of yeast. Clean and crisp mouthfeel. Very smooth and refreshing. Another winner from Yee-Haw.

12oz can. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin white head. Kind of unappetizing brewhouse aroma. Crisp noble hop bite, earthy bland malt. Bright with some bitterness upfront, but doesn't really compare to a true example of the style.

One of those Kolsches you can tell a brewery put very little thought into, wanting to make a quick-drinking summer lager without worrying over the nuance required to make an exceptional version of the style. Corn sweetness, crackers and white bread, some banana and earth, with a weak floral fade. Better than light beer, but not a good kolsch.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam that hangs around then dissipates. Light bready nose with faint lemon and grain husks. Some grass and mineral flavors. Dry on the palate, dry finish with grain and lemon. Simple and well executed.
