Single from Nashville. Mojito glass at home. Canned 11/04/24, bought fresh, sat in the fridge forever.

Milky coffee cream head. Opaque, dark brown body. Drippy lace.
Heavy chocolate nose, cookie, secondary coffee, bready.
Bittersweet cocoa, wood chips, thin & astringent coffee, creamer, somewhat sharp, soapy bitterness, a little soot.
Strong carbonation, thin, sticky residual, mellow feels.

Kinda meh.

Can. Very dark brown in color with a smal Tan head. Aroma and taste is mostly coffee and not much chocolate.

Cheap can. Pour is big n black, large and in charge; frothy head that stays. Sweeter malty nose. First taste is old aged burnt damp campfire wood, bitter baking chocolate and just maybe, a hint of black coffee. Seems more commandingly potent than 6.2%! Some decent sizzling co2, but could use a little more. Burnt bitter sensations tend to dominate the middle. Bitter unsweetened dark baking chocolate is supported by more burnt black coffee. Think strong coffee that's been sitting in a heated coffee pot and simmering for hours. Near the end, an unappreciated bitterness sets in the back of the throat with a tendency towards astringent phenolics. Becomes a little difficult on the finish, with a biting grudge-bearing pointed indignant long-lasting nearly rancorous grudge. There, you have it.

6 oz. pour on tap as part of a flight at Three Casks, Nashville airport. Virtually opaque dark brown w/nitro-looking head w/excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, light chocolate. Strong sweet over bitter coffee, milder dark chocolate. Smooth frothy texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. The finish is more bitter than I'd prefer and detracts a bit. Otherwise, quite good.

Weird beer, with an outsized bitterness on the back end and a strange, Belgian-ish clove undertone up front. Coffee leads to a berry tone in the finish. Thin texture doesn’t help. Kind of a mess.

2 week old can A: Poured a thick brown frothy head atop an almost black body. Long retention and stringy lace. S: Muted roasty aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee and faint cocoa sweetness. T: Bitter with ashy roast and herbal hop notes leading the way. Coffee is low and unsweetened chocolate is all but lost. Kind of toasty. M: Strong bubble scrub and light body. Somewhat dry. O: I think this would work better as a bitter black lager. Nothing really jumps out to shout mocha stout.

12 oz. can from Craft Brewed in Nashville, TN. Pours a clear dark brown color with ruby highlights and a large tan head with great retention. Very good lacing. As advertised, has a cocoa and coffee aroma. The taste follows the nose. Very dark roasted flavors of cocoa and coffee in equal doses. Medium-heavy body and creamy mouthfeel. Dark bittering finish. More coffee than I prefer, but well made and enjoyable.

Can at the Whiskey Kitchen. Pours black, with a medium, dense, tan head. The aroma is coffee, bitter cocoa, burnt oak, rye, and walnuts. Sweet and malty, with an acrid bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a grainy, sticky mouthfeel. Pretty tasty, if a bit harsh.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a pitch black with a half-finger of foam that lingers. Big cold brew coffee nose. Cacao nib. Bakers chocolate on the palate. More coffee. Dry finish. This is really good.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy deep brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has notes of dark grains and roasted malts with chocolate and a touch of coffee supporting. Flavor has dry dark grains with dark chocolates late and roast supporting.
