Everything you love about our classic Two Hearted® Ale... now in a double IPA. With two and a half times the amount of Centennial hops, Double Two Hearted® has intense pine and citrus notes, a resinous hop aroma and rich malt character.

35,5 cl bottle @ hotel room, Amsterdam. Bottled 22.08.2019 Aroma has tropical fruits, grqpefruit and some pineapple juice. Flavour has resin, menthol, alcohol and grapefruity hops. Nice but perhaps a tad too sharp on alcohol.

Good, but lacking the grace and nuance that make Two Hearted a masterpiece. Bludgeons you with barleywine-ish sweetness, loads of caramel and toffee malts atop orange slices, berries, resin, and pine. Boozy warmth is the biggest issue; the ABV is most certainly not shy. I’d rather drink two Two Hearteds, in all honesty.

12 ounce bottle from Woodman's Appleton, 9/13/19. Hazy amber, large fizzy white head, good retention. Aroma of dank, melon, lemon, floral, caramel malt. Taste is dank, resin, melon, passionfruit, candied lemon, toffee malt. Medium bodied, strong lingering bitterness, some booziness. Very nice, and I miss the bitter hop bombs.

Bottled August 21st 2019.
Pours a hazy gold, loads of bubble action, a firm inch of foam.
The smell is of bitter hops, alcohol, and a big bill of sweet malt. 11% abv and it sure smells like every bit of it.
Hop bitterness taste that gets overrun by the alcohol and the strong malty sweetness. I'm drinking out of a Melvin Brewing glass so I know aboot double IPAs and know what fits in my comfort zone for the style. This is an outlier for me.
Smooth thickish mouthfeel, which is fine.
Dang, this is a chore to drink. Two Hearted yes, Double Two Hearted no.

Bottle - lightly hazy medium orange pour - nose bursting with sweet citrus and pine - soft, creamy texture - fairly sweet, but assertively hoppy and bitter - the bright fruitiness of the hops works with the sweetness to create a candied citrus character - moderate heat in the finish is the only thing reminding you how strong the beer is - fairly good, and dangerously drinkable.

Sample at Winking Lizard Westerville during the "Bell's Heart and Soul" event on 05/16/2018. The beer is a clear reddish-copper color with a medium thick off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of citrus, floral hops and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and caramel malt. The finish is fruity hops and malt. Pretty good overall.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear light copper gold with a small white head that leaves nice lacing down the glass. Sweet resin, light pine and lots of caramel. Bitter piney, resin notes with caramel and candy sugar. Lingering gummy bear and pine. Not bad, but prefer the OG. Just a little too sweet and boozy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Two Hearted Ale on 22 Jun 2018 at 21:39 - Score: 7. Original review text: Sweet resin, light pine and lots of caramel. On tap at Maduro. Pours a clear crisp gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a sweet citrus note that has a bite of a bite backed by sweet grains and grass. Flavor has a great crisp citrus note with sweet grains and grass supporting.

On tap at MBGSF 2016. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is strong in floral, pine, grapefruit hops. Flavor has the same hop flavors: it’s pretty bitter and somewhat resinous. This tastes basically like what it is: a stronger Two Hearted Ale. Certainly good.
