Our tribute to the classic American Pale Ale. Brewed with a blend of Scottish golden & crystal malt, the hops are all-American... 4 separate additions of Cascade bring out the best of this fantastic variety.

Brewed for ALDI UK.

Clear golden beer, white head. It's A.N. Other IPA. It's fine, it's drinkable but there's nothing remarkable about it. If you want a slightly hoppy, slightly zesty pale then this'll do you.

Bottle from Aldi Supermarket, Keighley. Clear golden hopped pale ale with a head. This one is quite soft textured, perhaps a little too fizzed in design in this batch, but has a very healthy nose associated with this style and a fair dryness about it. Has a bitter finish.

[50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a fast fading white head; aroma of vanilla; sweet vanilla taste; with a pleasant grassy herbal bitterness. Not bad.

Bottle from Aldi, Chertsey. Aroma of pine and sulphur. Copper. Visibly bubbly. Thin cover of translucent white head - in fact more lacing than head. Initial low key sweetness. Followed by some sour edged syrupy sweetness, before it tones down again. Underlying malt. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. It's fine. Workmanlike APA for Aldi shoppers who usually stick to Golds.

Bottle from Aldi, Longford [240917]
Dark amber, clear, frothy white head
Aroma - caramel malts, dab of burnt sugar, slight fruits
Taste - caramel, too malty for APA, dab of toffee, some bitter zest hops...the malts aren't working in this
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite sweet. Finish of caramel, some spicy bitterness in the tail
Overall - Rather average, odd recipe, not a good example of an APA, wasn't keen on the malts in this

500ml bottle: BBE Dec 2018. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard at home on 27th Sep 2017. Obtained from an Edinburgh Aldi store while up there on holiday. Very pale golden body, full and deep white crown on top. Hoppy stuff with the cascade hops taking over the aroma and taste completely. Slight grapefruit flavours and fairly bitter, bit of spruce like notes in the brew too.

Bottle picked up at Aldi Inverurie. It pours clear pale amber with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, grainy, fragrant, elderflower, lime zest, gooseberry and biscuit. The taste is crisp, dry, light bitterness, grainy, zesty lemon, grapefruit, lime, pretty floral, elderberry, pepper and straw with a firmly dry finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. A touch grainy perhaps. OK, but lacks a bit of depth maybe.

500ml bottle. Clear amber with a good white head. Aroma is lemon, butter, biscuit. Flavour is similar, quite sweet. Basically it?s a lemon meringue pie in a glass
