500 ml bottle into weizen glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy deep reddish brown color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of banana, clove, toast, brown bread, wood smoke, wheat, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with well balanced fruity/spicy yeast, dark/bready malt, and wood smoke notes; with good strength. Taste of banana, clove, toast, brown bread, wheat, wood smoke, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, clove, toast, brown bread, wheat, wood smoke, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, dark/bready malt, and wood smoke flavors; with a great smoke/yeast/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and moderately crisp/creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice smoked weizen. All around well balanced fruity/spicy yeast ester, dark/bready malt, and wood smoke flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Aroma smoked meat. Almost clear deep amber colour. Taste has the signature smoked ham element, but the underlying weizen is distinguishable underneath, mostly towards the end of the bottle. Masterpiece of smoked beers.

Flaska från Bier-deluxe.de. Kastanjebrun, lite disig/smutsig, rejäl skumkrona. Snyggt. Rök doft som känns lätt och frisk. Vetesyrligheten och röksmaken gifter sig riktigt bra. Jag som har lite svårt för kombinationen sött/tungt och rök gillar verkligen lättheten och friskheten. I bakgrunden finns en lätt fruktighet med lite mogen banan och äppelskal. Riktigt gott.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv rauchig, Schinken, leicht röstmalzig, hefig. Geschmack rauchig, würzig, hefig fruchtig, geräucherter Schinken, klasse!

399 on sale at Le Bon Marché in Itami. Served in a weizen glass. It poured a clear dark brown with ruby highlights & a giant beige head. Wonderful smokey aroma with hints of bacon and maybe even some subtle weizen notes. Medium to full bodied, smooth with a zesty light carbonation. The taste is smoke malts, smoked ham, bacon, some cloves in the finish & yes some yeasty weizen notes but the smoked malts dominate. Damn fine beer though.

Murky brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Light creamy malt, tangy dried fruits. The smoke is not too acrid but there is a lot of it. Minerally semi dry finish. A bit smoky but it is drinkable.
