Shaker pint draft at Bailey’s in Dearborn, Michigan. The pour is hazed yellow orange with a light white head. The aroma is resin, citrus juice, grass and a bit of floral. The taste is all hops, with the resin, fruit and grass and a solid balance. As the beer warms, a bit of doughy malt yeast to go with the resin fruit. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel with a resin hop finish. Clean tasty beer.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 2/3/2018. Pours very hazy deep golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, grapefruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, grapefruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, grapefruit, berry, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant, dank, and juicy hop complexity; with perfectly balanced malt character. Just a bit too much on the bitter/drying side for the style from the 69 IBUs, but other than that a really nice example. A very enjoyable offering.
