Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a opaque black with dark brown highlights with medium light brown head. Pretty good lacing, slightly thick body, and smooth texture. Taste is roasted malt, and some bitter coffee. Pretty good.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a nice, big, brown, quickly dissipating head. To the nose there are scents of caramel, smoke, cereal and cocoa. First taste is smooth but a little watery on its mouthfeel. Flavours of smoke and burnt malt at the forefront. Rich malt and caramel lingering behind. Burnt malt flavour lingering.

Bottle. Coffee and roasted malt aroma. Dark brown with a ruby tinge, and a small brown head. Coffee and roasted malt flavor with lingering hops. Slightly creamy, medium bodied with a touch of carbonation. A pleasant stout that I would drink again.

Bottle. Poured black with a light brown head. Aroma was full of grainy notes as well as an undertone of roasted coffee notes. Flavor had strong roasted coffee notes with an oat undertone.

Dark ruby beer, small soapy lace - aroma of oats, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts, coffee - smooth, creamy, medium-bodied - fairly dry and roasty, with black malt bitterness, but this is tempered by some semisweet chocolate and cream - finishes a tad smoky - reminds me more of the classic british examples than what most american brewers make - perhaps thatโs why itโs rated so low?

Bottled at Monkโs Cafรฉ Wallingatan, Stockholm. Black, beige head. Mild coffee aroma, Mid-dry, soothingly roasty espresso with cream atop but no sugar. Medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Slight salty bitterness. Harmonious and well balanced.

12 oz bottle. Pours very dark brown with a khaki head. Cocoa and cream aroma. Flavor is roasty chocolate, medium sweetness, with some coffee. The roast comes across a bit burnt and ashy and overpowers the other flavors a bit. Alright, but not great.

12oz bottle. Pitch black with a small beige head. Mellow choco-coffee aroma. Lots of cocoa tastes in the aroma, with a pleasant mild bitterness. Rich, and pretty full bodied for the relative low ABV. Easy watery finish, with some roasty chocolate. Very smooth and easy on the palate, yet full of flavor. Better than your typical US Stout.

Overall Impression: I don't remember being too impressed by this one. It's another old rating that I'll have to try again at some point and update.

A dark stout with a thick collapsing moka head. Aroma of nutty coffee, chocolate moka and meaty notes. In mouth, a good powdery chocolate, sustained roasted malts, a nice big stout. Medium bodied. On tap at Ballpark brewpub 24 Jan. 2009.
