Real vanilla beans from Madagascar combined with caramel and Munich malts create a beer that’s balanced and flavorful. Aromas of vanilla and toasted grain set the stage for mellow flavors of vanilla and dark roasted malts. Don’t let its deep mahogany color fool you. Vanilla Porter is dark in color and packed with flavor, yet it is as smooth as they come and easy to enjoy at any time of the year.

when i saw this in the packie i was thinking it was going to be a hit, but this is a bust unfortunately. was generous with the 6 for aroma, could be a 5 easy, not much there. color is fine for a porter, dark brown, light tan head. taste is articial, like they took a normal porter and drizzled some vanilla extract into it. a little too sweet, a little too crappy.

First rating12 fl oz bottle at a place in downtown Miami, FL. Called something like Burgers & Beer. On January 23, 2011Clear dark reddish brown color, big lasting tan head. Fairly faint sweet, roasted scent. Vanilla, chocolate, malty, sweet taste. Roasted, chocolate and vanilla aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.7/4/7/3/13=3.4RerateDraught as part of a flight, at the Breckenridge tap room, on October 6, 2012Didn’t take notes on this since /i had 14 beers on my flight and it felt nice to not write on one of them, but it cam across as even more vanilla than I remember it from the first time. A bit too much, don’t think I’d drink many of it after another.

Some Philly case store Sampler Case: Pours a transparent black or I suppose dark brown color. Aroma of too much vanilla and a little bit of chocolate. The beer itself is on the thin side, with again too much vanilla and vanilla and vanilla. I guess this is a beer that I would have never bought had it not been inside of a sampler case. In fact had I known it was in the sampler case I might not have bought the beer in the first place. Oh well, I guess there are other people in the world who like vanilla in their beer.

Bottle. Dark brown tinted ruby with a small beige head. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, and earthy wood. Didn’t really get vanilla in the aroma. Flavor was sweet roasted malt with a slight bitter finish from the malt. The vanilla was there, but I really had to concentrate on it. Medium bodied with a little carbonation. Not bad, but nothing special.

12 oz. bottle. Pored into a snifter. Pours a black with a reddish hue, decent frothy light brown head, good lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, caramel and roasted malts, and a touch of chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin for a porter, creamy, and a roasted bitterness at the end. Pretty good, a little too much sweetness. But for me that’s not a bad thing. I will keep an eye out for this one. The Vanilla comes through more as it warms to room temperature. The more I drink it the more I like it.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a opaque black with a brown head. The aroma is coffee, caramel, salt and a hint of salt. The flavor is bittersweet with a long bitter finish. The palate is medium, sticky and astringent. The vanilla is weak and this is just a basic porter.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. Aroma is vanilla. Heavy on the vanilla. Flavor is heavy on the vanilla. I’d say this one is pretty good for what it is - even if the vanilla seems a bit fabricated.
