500ml bottle [as Black Pig II]. Opaque, darkest brown colour with absurdely huge, firm, frothy, mostly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, fruity and slightly herbal hoppy aroma, notes of berries and blue grapes, dusty, yeasty overtones, chocolately malty background. Taste is roasty, chocolately dark malty, dusty hints of cocoa, slightly fruity, moderately bitter hoppy overtones, dry hints of fruit parings.

Bottle. Slight gusher. Black body with a massive beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw, Digestives, red apple and chocolate. Flavour of biscuit, chocolate orange and liquorice. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. An interesting beer - possibly more Black IPA than Porter.

Craft near Tottenham Court Road war zone. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and a little airy. Mild fine carbonation. Smooth and mellow dark malts. Little coffee, mild earthy roast. Brief burst of sweet esters. Mild dark fruits. Dry finish and bitterish linger. Not bad.

Manchester Beer Festival 2015. Black with a small head. Its hops are more evident than its roasted malt, both are apparent though. There’s plenty of fruit, more so in its taste than anywhere else.
