Fresh from pouring at IMBC 2017. Simcoe has imparted wonderful passionfruit, mango and lime aroma and flavour to this DIPA. Massive hopping at just about every stage of the brew including several dry hop additions create a truly Simcoe drenched DIPA experience. Our favourite DIPA of the year.

Growler fill. Turner’s, Sheffield. As Odyssey Simcoe. Fully hazy, lemon gold. Thin and messy, super sticky, lasting, white head. Good looker. Nose has lemon balm. Unripe orange peel. Some seltzer. Some soap. Taste has a juicy sweetness, with more of the seltzer. Moderate, citrus bitterness. Medium body. Fine carbonation. A little oily. Lingering moderate bitterness to finish. A little curious overall.

Hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and crisp. Light malts, mildly sweet. Good floral orange hop, some hop spice. Touches of orange peel and tangerine. Yellow grapefruit and pine on the finish. Crisp and hoppy - what’s not to like?

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Hop Locker. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. A bit of rindy citrus in the nose, pale bread, pine. Medium sweet flavour with nice bready pale malts, mild piney bitterness, some oily grass, orange, tangerine, mango. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with a little oily resin, more citrus rind, juicy orange, mango, tangerine, melon. A nicely rounded IPA.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Golden body with a light haze and a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, sliced tomatoes and orange. Flavour of peach, peanut shell and grapefruit. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Delightfully clean and hoppy. Great beer.
