Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, faint, single centimetre tall off white or even tan head that fades quite quickly - but the body is deep and dark brown, but a bit thin at probably around 60 per cent opacity. Aroma of peanuts, chocolate (surprise, surprise), a lot of malts, some yeast and breadiness and ending with a dash of candy and bitterness (from the nuts). Medium-bodied; Assertive peanut buttery flavour at first with a light dose of chocolate and a touch of yeast and lactose as well with some alcohol and bitterness towards the end - quite strong throughout. Aftertaste shows the nutty flavours first and foremost with a hit of the chocolate, sugars and grain at the end, but the nuttiness shows throughout. Overall, a nice and enjoyable beer for the style - a good balance and hits the marks nicely throughout, even though it is a touch thin perhaps, it does show as an American Porter. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville, New Jersey on 22-June-2019 for US$1,89 sampled very fresh at home in Washington on 27-June-2019, just five days after purchase!

12oz can. I think I had my first peanut butter porter at GABF in 2008 from Blue Moon. Yes, Blue Moon. So, Manayunk your innovation is equivalent to what Blue Moon was doing a decade ago. We get it, its a beer that tastes like peanut butter, a lot. I didnt buy this for myself but had to drink it.

12 oz. can purchased at Craft Beer Wearhouse, Philadelphia. Pitch black color, gast dying head. Aroma is HUGE peanuts, chocolate, and roast. The flavor is nice, good amount of peanut and chocolate. Body is a tad lean but it is a porter and not a stout.

Can shared from plastic cup. Dark brownish. Aromas of peanut butter, chocolate. Like a peanut butter cup. Taste falls flat with light peanut butter, a little cocoa. Light watery body. Dry finish. Great aroma at least.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown pour yielding to a black color. Finger’s worth of eggshell white foaminess sits atop of the beer before gently dieing off into the beer. Light lace.
The aroma opens up with sweet crushed peanuts, roasted nuttiness, soft sweet chocolate malt and then a touch of balancing coffee.
The flavor balances very nicely between the roast and sweet of the peanuts and nuts to the chocolate malts. Coffee seems to sit just a touch further back. Eloquent semi-sweet to roasty aftertaste rolling into the finish very nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body, perhaps closer to light. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. I have to admit, this one does seem a bit rugged on the feel, perhaps that is due to that there was real peanuts actually crushed into this beer.
Overall, I think this was a very nicely done creative porter by Manayunk. If I lived in their distro, I wouldn’t mind more of this even if the feel is a bit more rugged than expected.

Mahogany with prominent peanut aroma, full body. Roasted malt and bitter chocolate taste, with lingering chocolate finish that is not 100% pleasant. Decent but not top shelf for this style.

Can. Pours hazy mahogany, medium creamy beige head, dissipates fairly slowly, good lacing. Aroma is heavy peanut butter with a bit of roast. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, mega peanut butter, roasty and a bit of cocoa. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.
