Hermit Thrush is interesting brewery so when visiting in laws seems worthwhile to try new offering. Apple bees are always and odd duck imo. Fine greenish yellow brew. Nose is crab apple and sour lime. Tastes of lime, lovely greeen and cider apple, some other fruits, yeast, light coriander. Tart and refreshing.

Draught at the brewery, 3/18/16.
Pours a mostly clear, light golden with a touch of amber. White head immediately fizzles to a ring.
Dusty wild yeast notes combine with malic and acetic acids, as well as juicy apple sugars. The malt really goes a long way here and gives backbone/structure to the beer. I’ve been mostly unimpressed with American wild fermented ciders, as they’re just too dry/thin/overfermented.
In the flavor, the sweet apples play perfectly against the honey-like malts while light acetic/malic/lactic acids provide tartness and depth. Really nice balance and lip-smacking acidity on the end make for a crisp, drinkable experience. The alcohol is in a good place here too. What a charming little brewery.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange color with no head nor lacing. I’m guessing that the \"cider\" of the house took control on part of this look, no worries, I get it.
The smell had a semi-sweet to sticky sour apple glosses into a light bitter green apple.
The taste rounds out the edges of the aroma with a nice woody to semi-tartness. A semi-sweet to sticky sour aftertaste leads into a quick semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly good for the sour style allowing the sour edge to allocate enough to lead into a woody feel on my tongue.
Overall, sour ale combined with a cider, nice to try, but probably would probably come back to on a hot Summer’s day, it’s too cold outside right now.

Draught at the Source. It pours lightly hazy pale gold with a small white head. The nose is earthy, sour apple, funky, apple skin and sour candy. The taste is crisp, clean, smooth, soft tartness, green apple, funk, white wine and lemon sherbet. Light body and fine carbonation. Crisp, tart and easy going. Crushable.

Draft at Worthy Burger. No head on a bright orange/ gold liquid. Aroma is light oak, hints of fruit, maybe Apple and yeast.
Mild sour oak, pale malt and toasted grain with a lightly tart finish. More tart rather then sour. I don’t really find that it is a tart Apple flavor just undisclosed fruit. The body has a yeasty chewiness with some lingering fruit in the finish. I would be willing to sample more from this brewer because this was pretty easy to drink.
