440ml can. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is oily roast, liquorice and cherry coke. Taste has liquorice throughout with a little oily cherry on the finish. Quite heavy.

Bottle from the Brewery online shop. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate and hazelnuts, light vanilla and red fruit. Taste is more chocolate and nuts. Snickers, basically. Very little cherry action at all.

Keg at CBC SMA - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Good roast in the nose, some tangy berries, dusty cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with bittersweet baking cocoa, a little alcohol, dried earth, leathery berries, rich coffee. Full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with chalky cocoa, muddy earth, more baking cocoa, old leather, more dried berries. Alright overall.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Nearly black. Minimal head. Nose is all Black Forest gateau. Loads of cocoa and black cherry yoghurt. Vanilla. Nailed on really. Taste is light, vanilla sweet, with a little woody, ashy dryness. Light to medium body. A bit thin, maybe. Ashy, woody finish. Smells great, but trails off thereafter.

Keg consumed at Electric Bear Taproom, Friday 3rd February 2017 Black as yer ’at, there is a slim rim of light beige foam atop. A good fruity and chocolatey stout it’s a little black forest gateaux’ish’ Drinks very, very easy for the abv. Nice softness in the mouth, a very nice and interesting Impy Stout. Keg at Cask with a Stuu666. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, rich, cherry jam, black forest gateaux, chocolate, coffee and earthy roast. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roast, creamy, coffee grounds, chocolate, mocha, earth, light pepper and with a dry, roasted finish. Nice black forest gateaux vibe. Well - rounded and rich gear.
