A perfect marriage of fresh apples & caramel, with just a hint of salt.

23/8/2024. BIAB at Briarbank’s 2024 Summer Beer Festival. Pours clear golden with a minimally bubbly white head. Aroma is salted caramel, baked apple, vanilla. Medium plus sweetness, with light sourness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Nice tart finish. Expected this to be much sweeter. Enjoyable.

Box @ Two Halves, Margate. Golden cider with a low and easy texture and strength, but it's very salted with lots of caramel, so I don't expect anyone to be making a session with this.

Bladder bag at the Chiltern Taps, HW, 19/05/22. Pale golden yellow with a white cap. Nose is sweet apple, caramel, sugar, straw. Taste comprises apple pulp, hit of salted caramel, tannins, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light drying close. Not as bad as i thought it would be.

On cask at Piccadilly Tap, pours a clear pale blonde with no head. Nose definitely reveals the salt and caramel, with restrained apple skins. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with intensely sweet caramel, plenty of salt, and subdued apples. Cloyingly sweet and barely drinkable as such. Not good.

Box @ Stable, Birmingham. First half out the box. Pours clear gold, big creamy thorntons toffee nose. Taste is similarly smooth, sweet with smooth clotted cream toffee and salted caramel notes. No tannin or acidity present. I can see its appeal and I'm sure this cider has its crowd, but it's not really for me.
