Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgium’s eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop.

Hazy yellow color, small white head. Light spicey, Sorachi Ace dill aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Tropical fruityness underlying but flavor is dominated by spicey, grapefruity dill flavors. Interesting use of Sorachi Ace.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Very hazy golden-orange pour with bubbly white head. Aroma is farmy, with lemon peel and banana. Taste very tart sharp and bitter, farmy saison flavors. Palate light and very bubbly. Not bad for this style.

Front of Bottle Shows: Somerset Saison Crisp light golden and honey coloured body with a glow of light copper and a very thick, five centimetre tall just off-white head that leaves a pretty nice lace on the side. Aroma of grass, hay, earth, mushrooms, funk, yeast and a faint hit of gueuze. Light-bodied; Very mild flavour of earth, some grass, a hint of yeast and a lot of funk, but this is VERY mild, there is not much flavour to this at all. Aftertaste shows the yeast, a hint of malt and the slightest bit of a dry grass or hay, but that’s it - no hops, no sweetness, no complexity and largely - no real flavour. Overall, an interesting beer that just fades off to nothingness after the aroma, really. Smells like it will have some flavours, but doesn’t ever really show up. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Small Batch Liqours in Denver, Colorado on 08-June-2014 for US$5,99 sampled at home in Washington on 25-June-2016, a bit longer than two years after purchasing.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A cloudy straw coloured pour with a loose white head; orangey citrus aroma; soft grainy body with some orange juice and tropical fruit; and a dry finish with some warming spice. rather good.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is herbal, grassy and quite floral, but with some some dry kind of sour wooden notes. Flavour is sour wood, some grass, herbs, earth and mild citrusy notes too. Mild yeastiness in the finish too. Quite refreshing and tasty, on the verge of sweet and sour, giving a bit of both to it.

Pours a hazy orange. Firm head of foam from start to finish. Lacing all over the place.
Spicy hoppy yeasty nose. Hints of tartness but really more focused on spice and then hops.
Taste is hoppy, spicy, some mild Brett, no noticeable tartness to my palate. Dry throughout especially in the finish.
Medium body with medium carbonation and quite the excellent mouthfeel.
Loads of flavour and aroma in this 5% abv brew. Very enjoyable.

(Bottle) Pours hazy golden with good white head. Aroma of oranges, spice, barnyard. Nicely carbonated with good mouthfeel. Taste is spicy with some sourness, fruity notes and nice hop bitterness. Unusual Saison and very drinkable.
