A classic Belgian style, expressing typical spicy notes complimented by a lovely late honeydew nuance that dances on the tongue leading to a long citric finish.

Bottle at the Sir Walter Scott (JDW), Heathrow. Hazy pale yellow with a thin smear of a white head and a light fizz. Melon very much to the fore with a touch of banana, then lemon coming through and a mild bitterness. Less banana than many Belgian-style brews and for that I am grateful. Crisp, refreshing and easy to drink; this is one of the better saisons I've tried.

On keg at Six Degrees North, Edinburgh. Appearance - hazy yellow. Nice lacy head. Nose - a touch of ash tray up front. Then metal followed by candied fruit. Taste - more of the same really. Palate - smokey up front and not sure why. Dry and tangy the rest of the journey. Overall - odd smoked note at the start whoch kinda put me off. Shame.

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of spicy saison yeast, hints of herbs and dry white wine. Spicy saison yeast and herbs in the dry and crisp flavour too, some bitterness, but a little more would not hurt. No vinegary notes here, this confirms my theory that the keg I first sampled must have been off. I am upping the score accordingly. Original rating: Keg halfpint at The Grill, Aberdeen. Pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of spicy saison yeast, a hint of white wine vinegar. The flavour is spicy and lemony, again with hints of white wine vinegar. Probably off.

Keg at Six Deg North. It pours lightly hazy bright gold with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, banana, clove, white bread, candy and pear drops. The taste is crisp, clean, tart, citric acidity, apple, pear, melon, green banana, gooseberry, white grape, earth, funk, hay and spice with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Nice tart fruity character. Nice saison.
