Not your average West Coast IPA. This beer has a complex profile, owing to the fact that we brewed it with coriander seed, hibiscus, fresh orange zest, black pepper, and chamomile. Additionally, we used copious amounts of heavy hitting American hops to create the kind of enticing aroma one expects from a West Coast IPA. All in all, this drinks almost like a complex example of a Belgian IPA, but rather than having been fermented with a Belgian yeast, we just brewed it with everything but the kitchen sink.

Draft. A red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spicy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, spices, caramel, and hops, leading to a bitter finish. Too much spice covering the hops for my taste.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of dried orange peel and faint spice. Taste is more of the same. Spicing is subtle, but leaves a pleasant tingle. Bitter finish.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear orange-gold with a small, creamy topping. Mellow dried citrus in the nose, faint spicy pine. Light-medium sweet flavour with piney notes, orange rind, pale bread. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, some semi-ripe citrus, pine, melon. Good IPA.
