Aroma is bright and fruity. There is no mistaking the tart raspberries in this beer. Some lactic acidity hiding behind the fruit. A light oak note is also present as is a touch of mustiness, but the Brett character is very low. Pours a beautiful golden orange with absolutely zero head. Fairly cloudy but I did drive with this bottle a couple hours ago; definitely disturbed the yeast. A hint of a red hue in the edges. Flavor is incredibly tart; it's so mouth puckering that its hard to allow your entire palate to experience this beer. Once you get past the acidity, there is a nice tart raspberry note and a touch of oak. Once again the Brett character that you might expect to find is very minimal. Finishes very dry. Medium bodied with no carbonation which really accentuates the body of this beer. If there is any astringency it is hiding behind the acidity and is difficult to detect. Very low alcohol warmth. Overall this is an enjoyable beer, but you have to really love sour beers. This isn't your typical fruit lambic. This borders on the level of acidity that I can handle and almost drowns out the fruit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Heerlijk, prachtig bier, verdorie. ////////////////////////////////////////////////// Tried another 375 ml. bottle. Thx! for the sample. Totally messy & experimental, pure funk, rubber, totally wild with little raspberry. Very odd & raw mess. Interesting but not as good as previously. Keeping the old score for now.

Bottle at the Ginger Man, July 2012. A bit hazy pinkish with a small head. Nice beer this one. Sour with wood, some lemon and raspberries. Really refreshing and drinkable. Would love to see this one in Europe.

37,5 cl bottle @ hotel room, Las Vegas as ”Hanssens Lambic Experimental Raspberry"
Ugly, hazy appearance with no head, orange-reddish colour and some mosquito egg -looking bubbles in the glass. Aroma is tart and sour with lots of earthy notes, some raspberries and apples. Flavour is really sour and tart with some raspberries and lactic acid. Hardcore stuff and definitely much better than I expected when looking at the score average.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Bright, darkish orange appearance with basically no head. Quite oaky, raspberry puree, dark cherry, tangy, fairly funky aroma. Low to no carbonation. Super rich, tangy raspberry, fairly woody/oaky, dark berry, funky, super tart/sour flavor with a somewhat burning sour, tangy finish. Pretty intense.

Bottle, 375ml corked. Under a small, off-white head is a clear, pinkish orange beer that smells of berries, lemon and funk. Nice, but a bit weak. The flavor is lemony, with a touch of berries. Tart and puckering on the palate, maybe a bit thin. Lasting flavor, with the berries quite evident also in the end. Well, not my favorite Hanssens beer, but I wouldn’t mind having it again. 110916
