14/10/2011 37.5cl bottle @ John's place (2011-445)

Clear amber to deep orange beer, no head. Aroma: unripe raspberries, yoghurt, sour. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: little sour start, unripe sour raspberries, unsweetened yoghurt. Aftertaste: bit dry, sour, lemony. Not bad, not great either.

Bottle: Poured a reddish color lambic with almost no carbonation or foamy head. Aroma of sour raspberry with light notes of sweetness with medium barnyard notes is interesting and not as extreme as the cassis version. Taste is a refreshing mix between some tart raspberry notes with balanced sourness and some barnyard notes. Body is about average with almost no carbonation which was expected. This one is drinking very nice with a lot more balanced then the cassis version.

Tap at the 20th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. It pours a pink blush colour, with no head or carbonation. The nose is sweet raspberry syrup, rose and wood. The taste is juicy fresh raspberry, juicy apple, tart strawberry, rose and lime, with fairly high acidity in the finish. Very juicy and drinkable stuff.

Pours ruby-tinged orange into a tumbler. Bright white head quickly recedes to swirl surface and hug rim. Oak and feet aromas. Flat with sharp, funky gym socks upfront turning to a milisecond of raspberry before a tart grapefruit pith finish.

Bottle. Reddish beer with no head. Dust and tart/sour aroma with raspberry and oak. Raspberry flavor with sour notes and oak. Medium bodied. Low carbonation. Earth and dustiness lingers with oak, raspberry, and sour notes.

Pungent aroma of persimmons, not really raspberries, some light must. Clear red, between rose and ruby, no head. Sour with a definite raspberry character, some must. Notes of rose petals are also present. No oak. Really not all that impressive.

3500th Rating! Corked and caged bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. The cork pops with nary a hiss and there is absolutely no head when poured. Aroma of tart strawberry and raspberry notes, citrus, and an earthy funky finish. The taste is tart raspberries, strawberries, cherries, citrus, a cheesy note and faint toastiness. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Where the Wild Beers Are, 2010. Pink color. Raspberry aroma and flavor, but the aroma promises sourness before the flavor. Flavor is sour with the fruit. A very nice raspberry lambic, but not as sour as I expect from Hanssens.
