27/II/20 - 44cl can from a trade, shared @ a pretty big tasting for a workday, BB: 17/VII/20, canned: 17/I/20 (2020-181) Thanks to Lee B. for the trade and the drop off!

Clear brown beer, big creamy irregular solid creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots and lots of coffee, more coffee, green coffee, that’s pretty much it. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, bitter, little sourish, lots of coffee, bit metallic, very hoppy, bit resinous, caramel touch, mouth puckering bitterness. Aftertaste: more roast, coffee, charcoal, bit malty, sourish touch.

Half-pint, cask at York Tap. Shared with Finn. Black in the glass, firm fawn-coloured head, upper part lacing. Promising smell of coffee grounds. Mid-sweet chocolate taste with a prominent coffee touch to a roasted finish. Fine depth. Like it. (08.02.2019).

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown and opaque with an impressive if quickly dissipating khaki head. Coffee dominates the aroma but there's also the scents of watercress and fresh paper. Weird. Sweet taste with just a bit of a cooking herbs bitterness. Body is simultaneously thin and syrupy (again, weird) and flat. Not the best beer I'm likely to have tonight...
