Our first beer out of our new brewery is a homage to our building's former life as a Toaster Pastry factory. Biscuit malts give the beer a slightly nutty, crust-like flavor, complementing the fruity, jammy character of the hops. The toasty-sweet aroma, balanced by a bite of hops, makes this one of our favorite brews yet

Draft at the brewery tap, San Leandro. Light hazed amber orange coloured pour with a sticky off white head. Aroma is nice jammy fruits, pine, strawberry. Little brown bread. Flavour is composed of sticky resinous hop, jammy fruits, toasted malts. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, sticky hop resin. Not bad.

Can: Poured an orange color with white bubble. Nice floral and citrus hops nose. Taste was a bit soapy with loads of hops.

Poured from an oddly tall 19.2oz can… muddy brownish gold color with a persistent beige cap. Lots of thick sticky lacing. Sweet aroma is fruity, I swear at this point I can pick up strawberry jam, and citrus zest. Flavor is mostly sweet, with a sturdy malt base. Fruity and light bitters. Very enjoyable.

Pine needle nose. Crystal clear copper, thick yellow head. Grapefruit with a fair breadiness. Strawberry notes are subtle and only appear when warm. Medium body, soft carbonation. Didn’t deliver that much on the strawberry, but it’s a nice IPA/IRA.

Pour is a red with a small white head. Aroma is an ok mix of resinous hops and oily malt. Flavor is a very minor hop with a sweet malt that leaves some powdered sugar sweetness on the tongue. I do get a bit of baked bread crust like the can said I should but that is nothing to give the beer a higher rating. Not enough hops and a sugary sweet malt just gets this just barely in th o.k range.

19.2? ounce can from Beer Run. Clear dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of spicy hops, toasted malts and soft berry like fruits. The taste is toasted malt, piney hops, berries, citrus. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Yea, this is a good beer. Nice sweet fruity hop profile backed quite perfectly with toasted malts, giving it an eminently drinkable quality while retaining a full flavored experience. The well-hidden alcohol will get ya, though. Great brew. Glad it’s going to a more manageable 12oz can.

The Sampler, Brooklyn can: pours reddish with a large off white head. Aroma is flowers, perfumes, citruses, and biscuits. Taste ain’t too bitter or sharp. Very rounded. Light sweetness. Biscuit in the taste and the aftertaste. More malty than your average IPA. Pretty good. Very drinkable.

Can to pint glass. So many of the individual aspects of this beer seem really good, but something seems to fall apart about it as you step back and try to put it all together. Malt, flower and strawberry aroma. Hazy copper with vibrant white head. Taste is chewy. A slight oxygenation in the back. Slight orange. Peculiar.
