12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/7/2019. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper/amber/light reddish color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick cream/soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Insane appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 9.3% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial red. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV, with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balancing dark/bready English malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing west coast feeling style example all around.

Draft at Brew Dog-Birmingham, 6/1/16.  Darker amber color.  Tan head and heavy lacing.  String malt presence with caramel, toffee, and a bit of toast.  Hops and booze come through as well.  Heavy malty and boozy DIPA.  Could probably use a little balance, but not bad overall.

Keg at Brewdog, Birmingham, Saturday 4th June 2016 Pours reddy brown with a creamy white head. Really thick in the mouth, alcohol shows but doesn’t intrude. Very much in the vein of an American IPA, hoppy with almost a floral edge. Really good. A7 A4 T7 P5 Ov14 3.7

Keg, 9.2% at the BD AGM 2016. It pours deep red with a thick light tan head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, toffee, stewed orange, peach, blood orange and candy. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, bitter, pine needles, dank, resin, stewed orange, peach, toffee, peppery spice and some alcohol boost through the finish. Medium + body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Juicy and boosty. Good fun.

On draught at the brewpub. The beer is a mostly clear dark amber-brown color with a medium foamy beige head that recedes slowly. Jagged patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of candied oranges, malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of citrus, burnt sugar, malt and hops. The finish is soft and fruity with a mild hops aftertaste. Overall this beer isn’t quite up to par with the rest of the beers thus far in the Hop Odyssey, but it is a decent brews.
