Tap@MBCC May 2017, Copenhagen - pours purple with a pink ringed head. Sour fruity assault of rich raspberries and cherries, medium to high acidic, berry fruits, medium body, wooden oak accents, sharp tart fruity close.

Deep red and purple with a decent pink head. Grape candy and a tart carb bite. Smells stick but tastes weird.

Bottle @Luppolo Station in Rome with daniele. The pour is an intensive sour cherry skin colour and the foam is purple and persistent. Aroma: at start some leather notes, horse blanket. The continues with wood and intensive sour cherries and raspberries. Mouth is sour, intensive and aggressive in a good way. The red fruits are embraced by the complexity of the sourness. Tasty and peculiar.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish magenta, small pinkish head, dissipates leaving some residual and a bit of lacing. Aroma is quite funky, lactic, yogurt, basement, cherry, raspberry, stems, skins. Flavor is medium plus tart, medium funk, lactic, funky, berries. Very drinkable but a bit overly tart.

Draft 6 oz pour enjoyed at De Garde, and side by side with The Purple. Both amazing beers. I would have guessed I would enjoy the Purple with cherries more. While it is amazing, it might be just below. I do love raspberries a bit more. Bright red pour, dense, pink fizz head. Cherry pie aroma. Very sour first sip. Sour cherry, and a fresh red raspberry following. Plenty of oak in a semi dry finish. Some interesting red wine notes. Awesome!

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is very fruit forward with lots of raspberry notes and some light cherry notes. Some tannins from the skins and light herbal notes of seeds and stems. Light oak notes and light earthy phenolics. Very fruity without being jammy. Pours a very deep, dark purple, almost black it's so intense with a large, frothy, moderately thick, purple head that recedes somewhat quickly to a thin film that lingers on the edges. Faint lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly acidic and slightly harsh with quite a bit of fruit character. Light oak notes and a bit of light earthy phenolics. Lots of raspberry notes with some moderate cherry notes. Light herbal notes and tannins. Some saltiness or soapiness which is odd and kind of coats your mouth before going away; I think it is on account of the fruit but I haven't experienced it before. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer and super fruity but the odd note in the finish really hurts it. Great fruit notes though and the acidity, while strong and a bit sharp, isn't too bad.

(Sample @ MBCC 2017 Green Session, Copenhagen) Pours inky purple with a lavender-coloured head and lace. Notes of pretty intense raspberries, tart cherries, light to moderate jam, tart fruit, moderate lactic citrusy tartness, some acetic touches, tannins, soft oak, cherry pits, balance is rather heavily sour on the whole and only lightly sweet, very dry into the finish, lingering feeling of hefty tartness. Only very light funk. Light to medium bodied, softly carbonated. A bit over-sour for me, maybe it's the dry tannins but it kind of sucked a bit of the life out of the fruit. Good but I thought The Purple was better-balanced.
